The Power Of Your Voice

One of the shows that we really love to watch is ‘The Voice’.

It’s thrilling to see which new talent is going to wow us next or to be entertained when the judges vie for the next contestant. But what moves me most, is witnessing each person’s story; experiencing snippets of a person’s trials, struggles, accomplishments, victories and vulnerabilities.

To me, there’s just no greater gift than to be privy to some of the truest and deepest parts of a person’s life.

Whether or not I’ve been through similar circumstances, at the end of each story, I always feel a connection: a human tethering and a galvanizing compassion. No matter what they sound like when they sing, I end up rooting for them anyway, because although it’s a competition, it has suddenly morphed into something else:

It is now a critical moment in their lives when they empower themselves, own what it is they have to offer and step into the power of their voice.

At the end of each episode, I embrace the gift of this witness, being inspired by their bravery and moved by their hearts. More than this, I’m reminded that not only do we each have a story in this world, but they are, every one of them, worthy to be told.

Your voice is the most valuable vehicle for your story - not just your actual, audible voice - but that place within your spirit that has that sacred something, that is only yours, to offer to the world.

There are many ideologies, circumstances and people who will try to nudge you in the opposite direction. They may try to label your story (and therefore, you) as too: raw, offensive, upsetting, different, boring, out-of-place, lacking or even, irrelevant.

I want to reaffirm you otherwise:

Your story is real, riveting, relevant, honest, unique, beautiful, moving, worthy and most importantly, yours.  It’s the very thing that makes you different from anyone else walking on this earth - past, present or future - and it deserves to be told, celebrated and lifted high. It is valuable, yet priceless. It is human enough to resonate with the world, yet soulful enough to shift things in the spirit realm.

Quite frankly, it is special. You are special. (Thank God for you).

So, today, you are the heartstrings I lift up, acknowledge and commemorate; the ones whose stories hold my heart, overflow it with inspiration and move it to laughter and tears. The ones who remind me that there is good in this world and that there is so much beauty to behold.

For sharing your stories.

For expressing your experiences.

For every moment that you show up as the most authentic version of yourselves;

Thank You. x
